What Does It Mean to Live Sent?
To live sent means to live each day aware that Jesus has called us to represent Him and help others know and follow Him.
Mission Is Part of Everyday Life
You don't have to travel somewhere far away to live on mission. Your mission may begin at home.
It may happen at work, at school, in your neighborhood, at church, or while having coffee with a friend. Wherever God has placed you, there are people who need to see and hear the good news of Jesus.
Living Sent Means Being Available
Sometimes we make mission complicated. We think we need the perfect words, a special opportunity, or a detailed plan. But Jesus calls us to faithfulness.
We can pray for people, serve them, listen to them, tell them what Jesus has done in our lives, invite them to church, open the Bible with them, and help someone take their next step toward Christ.
Small acts of faithfulness can become opportunities to point people to Jesus.
We Trust God With the Results
Our responsibility is to be faithful. God is responsible for the results.
Paul tells us of this in 1 Corinthians 3:6:
“I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.”
That takes pressure off us.
We don't have to save people. Jesus saves.
We don't have to change people's hearts. God does that.
We are called to faithfully join Him.
To live sent is to wake up each day asking, “Jesus, who are You sending me to love, serve, and point toward You?”
