Did Jesus Send Every Christian?

When we hear the word mission, we often think about missionaries or church leaders.

But did Jesus actually send every Christian?

The answer we find in Scripture is yes.

Before Jesus returned to the Father, He gave His disciples the Great Commission:

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations.”Matthew 28:19

This command was given to Jesus' disciples.

And the call to make disciples did not end with the first disciples. Jesus' followers are still called to make disciples and help others follow Him.

Mission belongs to the whole Church.

You can be sent as a parent.

You can be sent as a friend.

You can be sent as a neighbor, coworker, student, business owner, teacher, or church member.

God has already placed people around you.

The question is: “Who has God already placed around me?”

Jesus sent His disciples to the nations, but mission can begin with the person sitting next to you.

Someone in your family may need encouragement.

A coworker may have questions about faith.

A neighbor may need practical help.

A friend may need someone willing to listen and pray.

You do not have to wait for a perfect opportunity. Ask Jesus to show you where you can be faithful today.

Every Christian is called to follow Jesus, and every follower of Jesus has a part to play in His mission.
