Why Do We Face Temptation?
Why We Face Temptation
Sometimes we want to do things we know are wrong. Feeling tempted isn’t a sin, but giving in can lead to bad choices and hurt.
Jesus’ Example
Jesus faced temptation too. After 40 days in the desert, He was offered an easy way out of suffering, but He stayed true to God’s plan. He refused shortcuts that would compromise His purpose.
How to Overcome Temptation
Know who you are and whose you are.
Follow Jesus’ example by making choices that honor God.
Use spiritual practices like prayer, reading the Bible, and relying on God.
God’s Help
God promises to help us overcome temptation:
“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” (1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV)
Practical Steps
Study and live out the Bible.
Pray and ask God for help.
Talk to trusted friends, a pastor, or a support group.
Look for God’s ways to escape temptation.
