How Do I Read The Bible?

How Do I Read the Bible?

The Bible is God’s way of showing us how to live and love. It’s full of history, poetry, laws, songs, and letters, and it’s divided into two main sections: the Old Testament (Hebrew Bible) and the New Testament.

Jesus Used the Bible to Show God’s Love

Jesus used the Bible to explain God’s heart. He taught that the most important commands are:

Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind.

Love your neighbor as yourself.

As you read, ask: How does this help me love God and others?

Jesus Used the Bible in Context

The Bible was written long ago in different languages and cultures. To understand it properly, ask questions like:

Who wrote this?

Who were they writing to?

What kind of writing is this (poetry, history, letter)?

What is happening in this chapter or book?

Reading the Bible is a Practice

The Bible is meant to be read, studied, reflected on, and explored repeatedly. It can change your heart and guide your life when you take time to learn from it carefully.
