What Happens After I Say Yes to Jesus?

What Happens After I Say Yes to Jesus?

Saying yes to Jesus is the beginning of a new journey. One of the first things you’ll learn is that God wants to hear from you. You can talk to Him anytime, about anything. This is called prayer.

You can pray using your own words, or you can pray something like this:

God, thank You for saving me and giving me new life. Please keep changing my heart and helping me grow. I trust You to guide me as I learn to follow You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Christians often end prayers with “in Jesus’ name” because Jesus made a way for us to have a close relationship with God. Because of what Jesus did, we can talk to God freely and personally.

A New Life Begins

After you say yes to Jesus, God begins changing you from the inside out. This doesn’t happen all at once, but over time. As you follow Jesus, you’ll slowly begin to live like Jesus did, to love God, to love people, show kindness and compassion to others, and welcome those who are left out. The Bible tells us that if we say we follow Jesus, our lives will begin to reflect the way He lived (1 John 2:5–6).

How Do I Grow as a Christian?

There are three simple ways we grow as followers of Jesus:

Learning About Jesus

You’ll start learning who God is, how to talk to Him, and what your next steps are in faith.

Living Like Jesus

Jesus showed us healthy ways to live, like praying, resting, trusting God, and choosing what is right. These habits help us grow closer to God.

Loving Like Jesus

The more we love others the way Jesus loves us, the more we grow. Love changes us and helps others see God through us.

Take a Moment to Reflect

Ask yourself:

What areas of my life do I want God to change?

How can I show love and care to others as I grow?

Remember, this is your individual journey. God is patient, and He walks with you every step of the way.
